  JWs next false prophesy.....2004/2005...

  i brought this up a while back (last year some time...can't find the damn post!!

  )...has the watchtower hinted at this yet?.

  ps i think the reasoning of this is that its 70 years since the closing of the heavenly calling (1934/35).

  This is the sign of the end??? This has been going on for the last 2 thousand years. Some Christians looked toward the year 1000 as the end of the system. What about the 14 century when 1/3 of Europe was wiped out due to the plague in only a few years? I am sure people living in those days thought that was the last days. The reason why things seem worse now is because there are 100 times as many people living today and we are bombarded with news reports daily due from modern 21 century media.

  1975 here we go again. The bloody hypocrates why don't they leave the setting of dates to God but even Jesus wouldn't set a date. On the other hand how much of that tired old book can we really beieve anyway.

  JW Kids - More Frightened Than Most?

  ive recently been in contact with a couple of ex-jws that i knew in my childhood.. what has surfaced is the amount of fear that we experienced as young children when we were involved with the witnesses.

  i accept that children often do develop irrational fears as part of growing up, but what i am talking about here is a deep-seated fear of being harmed.. many young children that i grew up with in the witness religion were of an unusually nervous disposition.

  i recall how when i was first taken to meetings that i found the whole experience somewhat sinister and strange.

  The lesson is like you said, You get back exactly what you put in.

  the march 15, 2002 study article of the watchtower says about submitting yourself to the spirit appointed authority of the congregation elders.

  it says in paragraph 11,. our leader is perfect.

  the men he has given as gifts are not.

  Even as a young child I remember questioning and reasoning things out and not accepting everything at face value. That did get me into trouble a few times with my parents. They would say, Why do you ask so many questions?? I always had a good heart but wanted explainations to everything. Is this wrong?? According to the Jdubs it was.

  I remember when I was a child and my mom studying the Paradise book with me. The illustrations of Armageddon, earthquakes and everything on fire, all the people dying and falling as the ground shallows them up. This from an organization that preaches love... I am sure that that was very traumatic to me as a young child.

  Elders--"untrained volunteers" or CLE...

  let's see how long the wbts can continue to waffle on this issue.... telling their members that the elders are "appointed by god" and yet when they make a mistake, claiming that they are merely "untrained volunteers.".

  i have never known exactly how "elders" are chosen and what the process is when a recommendation goes to brooklyn.

  all i've ever heard is "the gb prays over the issue.

  Isn't it strange how when we were part of the borg we never questioned the leadership but went along with the status que. I know this was the way I was brought up and I never dared questioned authority figures even when I knew they were wrong.

  now the story goes that god has abandoned humanity to "self rule" for a period of six thousand years.

  correct me if im wrong.. now during this time, mankind is supposedly left to rule itself, and fail miserably, thus demonstrating that only theocratic rule can maintain peace, bliss and happiness.. well, i think gods cheated.. in my humble (satanic) opinion, if man is supposedly ruling himself, the god shouldnt be interfering and moulding events.. a big example:.
